A gift to the Achill Arcaheological Field School will support our on-going archaeological and historical research projects and site preservation of some of the spectacular sites on Achill Island, Achillbeg Island and the Corraun Peninsula, dating from 5,000BC to 1900AD.
Your donation will help sustain the work of the Achill Archaeological Field School and support badly needed local employment, currently totally reliant of summer visitors. Your donations will also be used to provide funding for experimental archaeology projects and exhibitions depicting the work of the field school.
Our Archaeology and Folklife Exhibition is open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 1:30pm at our centre in Dooagh, Achill Island.
The exhibition features a display of archaeological and folklife artefacts from Achill Island accompanied by a series of interpretive panels detailing over 27 years of research by the Achill Archaeological Field School.
Regular ‘Open Day’s’ throughout the year will showcase the work of the Achill Field School to create awareness of the local heritage and help preserve it for future generations.
