Privacy Notice & Cookies Policy
This achill-fieldschool.com website is owned and operated by Achill Folklife Centre. We are strongly committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website and customers of our online shop. This document outlines how we treat data collected from website visitors and online customers.

Visitors to our Website
When someone visits www.achill-fieldschool.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We have an interest in doing this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, and we use this information to improve the service we provide to users. This information is anonymous – it is only processed in a way which does not identify any individual user. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. Google has its own statement on its commitment to data protection and pricacy compliance at: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/compliance/. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect visitor data, and has a (somewhat technical) explanation of how it does this here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage. You can find more information on how cookies are used on this website in the Cookies Policy below.

Contact Form, Application Form & Email Links
Website users who contact us by filling in and submitting our Contact Us form or course Application Form should be assured that the data submitted is collated as an email and sent to info@achill-fieldschool.com. Use of the forms implies consent that we may use data received for the purpose of responding to your inquiry, application or request. Similarly, the data associated with any email message sent to us via a link to info@achill-fieldschool.com on our website will only ever be used to respond to your inquiry or request. We do not sell, share, rent, trade or otherwise distribute email addresses or contact data with any other organisation or business.

Online Shop Customers
We collect data from customers of our Online Shop for the purpose of processing and fulfilling orders. This data is collected and processed within a contract between us, as sellers, and the customer, as buyers. Data collected includes things like name, contact details (to inform customers of progress on their order and provide a receipt for payment), delivery address and billing address. This data is transmitted to our payment processor for the purpose of payment processing. Please be assured, we never have access to a customer’s banking or payment details – this is handled entirely by the payment processor using their secure servers and systems. We retain customer and order data for seven years, to comply with accounting and taxation requirements. The data is stored on a secure server hosted by our hosting company. Please note, we do not operate a marketing list or any other email list for our Online Shop customers. Nor do we share, rent, trade or otherwise distribute customer data with any other organisation or business.

Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small piece of data that may be stored in the browser of your computer or mobile device. It allows a website “remember” your actions or preferences over a length of time. Further information on cookies can be found at http://ec.europa.eu/ipg/basics/legal/cookies/index_en.htm. We use Google Analytics to collect information on website visitors, and this sets two cookies (_ga and _gid). We also use security software from Wordfence to protect our website, and this also sets two cookies (wfvt_xxxx and wordfence_verifiedHuman). In addition to these cookies, third-party cookies may be set on pages where we show content from sources such as facebook, twitter and youtube. These are used to track the success of their application or customise the application for you. Because of how cookies work we cannot access these cookies, nor can the third parties access the data in cookies used on our site. Use of our website implies consent for cookies to be set. If you would prefer to delete cookies or instruct your web browser to delete or refuse cookies, please visit the help pages of your web browser. Please note, however, that if you delete cookies or refuse to accept them, you might not be able to use all of the features our website offers, you may not be able to store your preferences, and some of our pages might not display properly.
