2017 Modular Field School Courses

The Achill Archaeological Field School, Ireland’s longest running archaeology field school, offers a range of high-quality modular courses in Irish archaeology for Spring and Summer 2017. Courses combine both academic and practical fieldwork components with Academic credit for our Modular Courses issued by the National University of Ireland, Galway. All courses are residential in a modern self-catering accommodation block on Achill Island, on Ireland’s spectacular Wild Atlantic way.

The main aim of the Field School is to provide first-class archaeology training courses for undergraduate and graduate students while at the same time investigating and promoting the heritage of Achill Island, County Mayo on the north west coast of Ireland.

At the core of our course programme are the 2-week, 4-week and 6-week Modular Courses which may be taken for Academic Credit from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Fees quoted include accommodation in residential units in a modern self-catering block adjacent to the Field School.

Our Trainee Supervisor courses qualify for 3 semester hours of Academic Credit for students.
